Technology, work and organizations

Our research

Four connected research streams

Understanding change.
Building capability.

Our research brings together technological innovation, organizational studies, education, and policy. Four streams connect our past work with the questions we are pursuing next.

RESEARCH STREAM 01

Technological Innovation and Work

How do organizations introduce new technologies, and how do these choices reshape professional roles, work design, and performance?

This stream examines the relationship between technological innovation and the organization of work. It connects research on telehealth, electronic medical records, and AI with broader questions about how people and technologies work together.

Future research will examine how strategic choices about technology affect professional expertise, decision-making, and the quality of work.
